Seiji Gutierrez started playing guitar at 8 years old. At 10, he began studying the classical guitar. His studies took him through The McGill Conservatory of Music, Vanier College, and McGill University. He began writing for and fronting several bands in his late teens and into his 20s before dropping music to pursue other passions such as graphics and photography. He credits his return to music to meeting JP Vialard at a party in Hudson, where the two spoke about music and McGill. After being approached by JP, Seiji reluctantly agreed to try out for what eventually became El Proyecto Colectivo. Since then, he has been an active member in the Hudson music scene, hosting weekly jams and monthly Open Mics. He was one of the founders of the Hudson Porchfest, has organized several musical events in collaboration with the Hudson Fire Department’s Shave 2 Save and is an active member of local band, The Breeze.
